SUMMARY:2025 Truck Driving Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Oklahoma Trucking Association and Oklahoma Safety & Security Council host the state Truck Driving Championships. This two-day event puts each contestant through their paces with the challenges of a written exam\, pre-trip inspection\, and a skills course. After the competition is over we celebrate the accomplishments of these safe drivers at our awards banquet. Winners of each class go on to compete in the ATA National Truck Driving Championship. \n\n\n\nTDC Severe Weather Protocol\n\n2025 Final Standings\n\n\nVolunteer Information:\n\nVolunteer Sign-Up Form Here\n\nVolunteer Job Descriptions Here \n\nVolunteers will receive a commemorative coin OR T-shirt if the size is submitted by Friday\, May 16. The rule states\, that any NTDC competitor who competed at nationals in the same class of competition in 2022 & 2023\, must retire from that class in 2024 & 2025. Any NSVDC competitor who competed at nationals in 2022 & 2023\, must retire from the Step Van class in 2024. \n\n2025 NTDC /NSVDC Retirement List: The rule states\, that any NTDC competitor who competed at nationals in the same class of competition in two consecutive years must retire from that class the two following years. Any NSVDC competitor who competed at nationals in the same class of competition two consecutive years must retire from the Step Van class the following year.\n\n2025 Oklahoma Drivers Retirement List: \n\nDon Carpenter | Old Dominion Freight Line | Sit Out Class: Twins (2023-2024)\n\nJason Corino | Melton Truck Lines | Sit Out Class: Flat Bed (2022-2023)\n\nJames Fabian | ABF Freight | Sit Out Class: Straight (2022-2023)\n\nLarry Kendall | FedEx Express | Sit Out Class: 4-Axle (2022-2023)\n\n \n\nGrand Champion Scoring: We use the same scoring system as the ATA\, and it is figured by the same formula they use which is explained by them: The Grand Champion is selected through a handicapping system which takes into consideration the differences in vehicle operating characteristics in the different classes of competition. Therefore\, the TDC Grand Champion is not necessarily the individual with the highest cumulative total score. The Grand Champion formula identifies the individual who did well in all areas of competition plus how much greater the Grand Champion outscored his/her fellow class contestants in the Skills Test.\n\n \n\n\n2025 NTDC Competition Date: August 20-23 - Minneapolis\, MN - Like last year\, you will not receive NTDC packets for your champions. Once your champions are registered with the ATA they will receive an email containing all information that was previously included in the packet. - The OTA will register your drivers for the NTDC with ATA\, and we will send a separate invoice for their entry after our state TDC. The ATA will reach out to company reps after your drivers are registered by us. \n\n2025 NTDC Travel Info\n\n NTDC Volunteer Opportunities: More than 150 volunteers are needed each year to make NTDC and NSVDC a success. Volunteering is a great way to support trucking safety\, expand your network\, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the event. https://ntdc.trucking.org/NTDCVolunteers. \n\nA few things to note: \n\n\n	All judges' briefings will take place on Wednesday\, August 20 and finals will take place on Saturday\, August 23. Beyond Den Mothers and a few select timekeepers\, volunteer responsibilities will end on Friday\, April 22. \n	Lunches sponsored by Old Dominion Freight Line and XPO will be provided for judges during competition days Thursday\, August 21 and Friday\, August 22.\n	Like last year\, ATA will not sell award banquet tickets onsite. All Awards Banquet Tickets must be pre-purchased online before August 1. \n\n\n \n\n\nOTA TDC REQUIREMENT\n\n\n	Companies participating in the State Championships may be required to provide a tractor and/or trailer to be utilized during the competition as well as a volunteer to serve as a judge. Drivers whose companies do not provide equipment and volunteer judges may not be allowed to compete.\n	In addition\, if needed\, companies must be able to provide equipment in the class of competition in which they have drivers competing. The OTA policy stands\, we will not sign any equipment/hold harmless agreements nor will we be naming any additional companies to our general liability insurance policy. \n\n\n\n\n\nA special thank you to our member Bret Bringham of Melton Truck Lines for providing the event artwork.\n\nAdditionally\, thank you to Walmart for providing all the ice and water on Friday and Saturday\,\n\nThank you to FedEx Express OKC for providing lunch to the drivers on the course Friday afternoon. \n\nAnd Premier Truck Group for providing and grilling the burgers on the course on Saturday for all the guests and drivers.
